DishAdvisor

DishAdvisor Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026.

Who we are

DishAdvisor (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by BAJAJTECHSOLUTIONZ LLC, a Michigan limited liability company. DishAdvisor helps you find well-reviewed dishes, not just well-reviewed restaurants. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it’s used. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

Account information. How you sign in determines what we receive:

Your name becomes your public display name and, if Google provides one, your profile picture is shown with your reviews.

Food preferences. The spice tolerance, allergens to avoid, and favorite cuisines you choose. These are private: they are never shown on your public profile or to other users, and are used only to filter and rank dishes for you.

Location. With your permission, the app uses your device’s location while you are using it to find dishes near you. Your coordinates are sent with each search and, when we look for new restaurants nearby, to Google Places. If you search a different area by name, your device’s built-in geocoding service (Apple or Google) converts that name to coordinates. We do not store your location or keep a location history. You can turn location off in your device settings; you can still search by restaurant name, but nearby results won’t be available.

Content you create. Star ratings, written reviews, and photos you attach to a review are public and shown with your display name. Dishes you save as favorites are private to you.

Reports and blocks. When you report a review, we record the review, the reason you chose, and your account. When you block someone, we record that you blocked them. See “Reporting content” below.

Search choices. Your searches and the filters you pick (such as price or party size) are sent to our servers to return results. They are not saved to your account.

Usage data. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as request times and IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting. If we ever add an analytics or crash-reporting service, we will update this policy before it ships.

Restaurant and dish data. Restaurant details (name, address, hours, price level) come from Google Places and Yelp. Dish descriptions are written by an AI model from public web sources and cited back to their origin. This is information about restaurants, not about you, and we do not store third-party review text from Google or Yelp.

How we use information

To generate AI dish summaries, we send restaurant and dish details and public web content to our AI provider. None of your personal information — account, preferences, location, or reviews — is sent to the AI provider.

What we don’t do

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that run the app for us, and only as needed for that purpose:

Provider What it does What it receives
Supabase Authentication, database, file storage, server functions Everything stored in your account
Google (Maps Platform) Restaurant lookup near you Your location at search time; no account data
Google (Sign-In) Sign in with Google, if you use it Handled under Google’s privacy policy
Apple Sign in with Apple, if you use it Handled under Apple’s privacy policy
Yelp Restaurant identity details Restaurant names and addresses only
Anthropic AI-generated dish summaries Restaurant/dish details and public web content only

Google Maps features are also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists.

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. This permanently deletes your account, profile, food preferences, reviews, review photos, favorites, and any reports or blocks you made. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke DishAdvisor’s Sign in with Apple authorization. It can’t be undone. Copies in our providers’ routine backups expire within 30 days. You can also email abhasetia.studio@gmail.com to request deletion.

Your choices and rights

Reporting content

You can report any review you find objectionable from the dish page. Reports record the review, the reason you chose, and your account, and are visible only to DishAdvisor staff for moderation. The reported review is hidden for you immediately.

You can also block another user from the same place. You won’t see their reviews anymore; they aren’t told. Your list of blocked users is visible only to you, and you can unblock anyone from Profile → Blocked users.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your private data (preferences, favorites, reports, blocks) is restricted at the database level to your own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children’s privacy

DishAdvisor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your data is processed

DishAdvisor is operated from the United States, and our providers may process your data in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our data practices change and change the effective date at the top. For material changes, we’ll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
